Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It's more than where you're born - it's an idea, a state of mind that seems imparted at birth. It's more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, high school football, beer, country music, and acoustic guitars. It's being hospitable, being devoted to front porches, magnolias, the good Lord, and each other. We don't become Southern - we're born that way.

Save some face, you know you've only got one

All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. ~ As You Like It (William Shakespeare)

"I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe that loving is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."~Audrey Hepburn

All these awesome sayings came from the blog called the tale of the southern belle...I just wanted to share them on my blog for you all to see....

Not all those who wander are lost. -Tolkien

"You think you know a story, but you only know how it ends. To get to the heart of the story, you have to go back to the beginning." --Jonathan Rhys Meyers as King Henry VIII (from The Tudors)

It's just kind of about being away from home for a long time, being busy, then coming home, sitting down, having everything come to a halt and wondering what to do next. When you become really occupied, there are so many things that happen to you, so many great moments, nights out with your friends, that just slip through the cracks, that you don't remember. And then you'll run into that person, and it'll hit you all at once, the memory of that happy time which was lost in the filing cabinet of your brain. And that feeling you get when you remember, it is so great. ~Pete Yorn (about his song Come Back Home)

It's like the early stages of a relationship, how fragile it can be. How everything is good in the beginning, but it all goes to shit. And again, it's about trying to get back to that state, before things turn bad. To a simple time, when there were not expectations. It was just all new and exciting. You can be with someone, have a great time, fall asleep together, and when you wake up the next morning, you're just not into it. Then you stop returning phone calls, and it's over. -Pete Yorn (about his song Crystal Village...).

"Darlin', don't ever take a Southern woman for granted!"

I love this saying....

I just love this saying from the blog of Life with Attitude. Its just awesome.....“Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for the opinions of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on earth for you. Act for yourself. Face the truth.”–Katherine Mansfield (1888-1923)

Uno Chicago Grill Lobster BLT Thin Crust Pizza

1,530 calories

87 g fat (30 g saturated)

3,480 mg sodium

CALORIE EQUIVALENT: 51 Nabisco Ginger Snap Cookies

On its own, lobster is sweet, healthy, and loaded with lean protein. Yet, for some reason, restaurants never seem to know what to do with it. Case in point: Lobster BLT Pizza, an amalgam of foods that don’t quite fit together: One is seafood, one is diner grub, and one is an Italian-American hybrid. We're all for trying new things, but not when the toll is 75 percent of your day’s calories and 1½ day’s worth of sodium and saturated fat.

1,550 calories

97 g fat (46 g saturated)

3,910 mg sodium

CALORIE EQUIVALENT: 148 Whoppers Malted Milk Balls

Yes, America has a cheese fetish, but this is just excessive. Cheese-filled meatballs? It’s like a beef-based Gusher, a sort of meaty water balloon of fat. Especially problematic is the fact that said meatballs are served on a bed of fettuccine Alfredo, which is basically flat noodles basting in oil, butter, and—yes—cheese. Cut more than a thousand calories by switching dishes. A smart swap like this one (and the hundreds of others in Eat This, Not That!) a couple times a week and you can lose 2½ pounds a month without ever dieting!

97 g fat (38 g saturated)

2,090 mg sodium

CALORIE EQUIVALENT: 15 Snickers Kudos Granola Bars

Is this a joke? Because it should be. Where a normal hamburger has buns, this one has grilled cheese sandwiches. Yes, that’s two grilled-cheese sandwiches with one hunk of ground beef wedged between them. Other iterations of this sandwich have been dubbed “fatty melts”—for obvious reasons. They have twice as much cheese and bread as a regular cheeseburger.

IHOP New York Cheesecake Pancakes

1,270 calories

CALORIE EQUIVALENT: 28 McDonald's Chicken McNuggets

Further blurring the line between dessert and breakfast, IHOP has infused their fluffy flapjacks with gooey hunks of cheesecake. Next thing you know they’ll be serving breakfast with big scoops of ice cream and chocolate syrup. The best breakfast is one with protein and fresh fruit, but if you’re going to go for the carb-heavy indulgence, there’s a better way to do it. Don’t make it a habit, but IHOP’s Chocolate Chip Pancakes will save you 660 calories.

Bonus Tip: Novelty isn't the only thing threatening your waistline; some of the world's most dangerous foods are also the most common. Beware of these gut bombs: The 10 Worst Fast Food Meals in America.
There’s an arms race going on, and it could mean disaster for your waistline.

But this terrifying competition to build the biggest, scariest weapons of mass destruction isn’t happening between the United States and Russia, or on the Korean peninsula, or among angry rivals somewhere in the Middle East. It’s happening between America’s restaurants—every one of them, it seems, is eager to show it has the biggest, scariest, most destructive new food in the marketplace. And the unsuspecting victims of this Strangelovian contest? You and me.

See, even the most well-established restaurant chains can’t rest on their laurels, serving the same old standbys that we’ve loved since we were kids. They have to keep us interested and attracted with shiny new bells and whistles. And since no one has invented, say, a new kind of potato, they’ve got to go with the next best thing: gimmicky entrees with terrifyingly complicated ingredient lists and rapidly expanding serving sizes. It wasn’t enough that pizza makers started putting cheese inside the crust! Kentucky Fried Chicken saw that and ramped up its own destructive powers, by making a sandwich in which the bread is replaced by slabs of fried chicken. Then a few major league ballparks started serving their burgers on doughnuts instead of buns. What’s next: fried Fluffernutter franks?

Almost. Take a look at what’s being whipped up in the labs of the mad fast-food scientists, compliments of the upcoming Eat This, Not That! 2011 book, and be afraid—be very afraid!

Denny’s Fried Cheese Melt with wavy fries and marinara

1,260 calories

63 g fat (21 g saturated, 1 g trans)

3,010 mg sodium

CALORIE EQUIVALENT: 18 T.G.I. Friday’s Frozen Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins

Apparently, Denny’s deemed the classic grilled cheese too boring for our novelty seeking taste buds, so they fixed it by driving four deep-fried cheese sticks into the core of the sandwich. So what you end up with are cheese sticks with extra cheese between slabs of buttered bread and a pile of fried potatoes on the side. If Denny’s was serious about improving the grilled cheese, they would have skipped the novelty and brought in big-flavor ingredients like sautéed mushrooms or sliced figs. But, of course, if they did that, they might not be able to sell this entire meal for $4. Here’s to cheap food and expensive health care!

My day today has been in the crazy lane.  I do believe I am so ready for the fall, the heat has defientely affect lol, my brain.....?  It just seems like i have so much on my mind that I can't do it all.  Sometimes I will be driving, like today for instance, and go off into my own little daydream world and forget what I am doing, LIKE DRIVING LOL> and not hit a car in front of you.   But all was good.  I did wake up.  But it just seems like everything I do lately is just crazy.  Or my life is fast and I can't keep up hardly.  Do you ever feel that way? Man I am so glad today is about over, and I hope tomorrow is better.  Well, thats all i have for now, later.....crystal

Ready for the lovely fall.....

I always wonder sometimes what it would be like if i could go back in time and redo my life the right way instead of the wrong way.  And then I think, and say to myself, nah, I love my kids too much to sacrifice anything.   Without my kids, I do believe I would be lost in this world and so alone.  They definately keep me up and going and remind me that life is so full of the little things that we often forget or take for granted.  They let me know that no matter how old mommy gets that i am still there everything and i am still fun,.

But for now, I am awaiting the fall to come and say hi to me once again.  Fall is one of my most favorite seasons and time of the year.  Apple cider, apples, hay rides, pumpkins, ( which by the way, our pumpkings are growing enormously lol.) but they look so beautiful.  Trick or treaters will soon be knocking on my doorr for sugar and my kids will be out and about in their favorite costumes.  Its such a perfect time of the season to enjoy the outside and still be comfortable.   I thank God so much for the Fall...........

School has finally started...YEAHHHHHHHH

School has officially started today and all my kids are back in it. That leaves me some free and  peaceful time for a little bit, except the 2 babies with me. But all in all, i'm glad fall is coming and school is back in session.  We have had some enormous heat waves here lately, so all do be careful out and about.  I do know i am learning to become content with what life has in store for me, whether its good or bad, I am learning to be content with it.  And for all you old fashioned women in the world, here is a trick to try on any of your stained clothes: USE MURPHY'S OIL.
My mother taught me that trick with stained clothing that i didn't want stained lol.  And if you have mildew, use a cup of lemon juice and a little bleach, not alot, and that usually does the trick.
For blood stains in clothing or etc, rub some morton's iodized salt on it and then wash it.  And if your out at the store or a resturant eating, use a baby wipe to get your stains out of your clothing or anything really.  It works, trust me i have 6 kids, i know lol.

I think I may have just found my prince charming....?????

hello again my blog and all my blog friends. I have met this really cute, sweet guy that loves kids.
HELLO LADIES, you can't ask for better if they love kids..... I hope to actually meet him in person soon, lol I think i will like the outcome of getting to know him very well.  He loves to fish and camp and all the things that me and my kids love to do.  And hes just southern like me. Well, his name is Kenny. I won't go further into details until i get to go on an official date, but i hope this is good, all the others i have dated or been in a relationship with were not what you would call father material.  This guy looks like a keeper that my kids would fall in love with before me....
So maybe one day i won't be single on this blog anymore, but starting a new life with someone  and hopefully slicing a wedding cake with.

WOW, hope he doesn't read this just yet and think, OMG, she's jumping the gun, well no, i am just dreaming of that special day and it be real.  My divorce was better than my wedding day, sad isn't it.
Oh well, who knows what God has planned for you. Hopefully someone like him.  You know what else, I would love to go on a masquerade ball sometime, i bet they are so fun.

a book i'm trying to write.....

Sometimes I wish I could have anything my heart desired. I wish that war would end and that the famines of world hunger would be fed well so no one would ever be hungry again. I wish that child abuse didn’t exist and that hurting people to make yourself feel somewhat better would disappear from all human minds today. But until then, I am who I am and I can’t change that for anything in the world. But as I look at it now, I wouldn’t change my life anyways. Hi, let me formally introduce myself, My names is Crystal. Nice to meet you.

I am a single mother of 6 children, after a long 9 yrs with a bad husband and miserable and depressing life with him. The only good thing out of the marriage was my kids. Of course my oldest child was from a previous when I was just 17 and made a stupid mistake of giving my innocence up to someone not worth my time. But my son, he wasn’t a mistake, I love my son and he changed my life for the better.. Just because you have kids doesn’t mean your life is over, its actually just beginning. Kids make up for all the horrible times you have had in life, their funny, exciting, and love to keep you young, fit that I assure you lol, and very much into their magical world of make believe. They somehow help us to remember we too were once little and loved to be just like they are today.

I have 5 boys and 1 little girl. I stopped after that, my ex told me I needed too. But that’s okay, I have my kids and that’s okay now. Yes I do get sad at times and cry, because I took away my place of ever having kids again. I would of loved to have given lizzie my little girl, a sister. But I guess we all make bad choices, and not realize the suffering consequences it will leave us when they have been made. I am 33 yrs old and sometimes I think I am actually going to lose my mind, seriously, lol. Raising 6 kids alone is very hard, my sister lives with me but that’s only so much, cause she doesn’t have kids. But I am still okay with that. I always wanted a big family and I got one. I want my home to always be full and happy and merry with my kids and their kids. Holidays and birthdays, and so on. And knowing that one day when your old there will be someone there with you always, to visit, read to you, and love you no matter what. Each one of my kids are very unique, and they do have some setbacks. ADHD or something like that, but they are very smart, intelligent, and loving. There so sweet and I couldn’t ask for better kids. But whatever others say about us that have lots of kids or multiples, ignore them, maybe their just jealous or maybe they do think were just out of our minds. Lol. I don’t know really, but who cares. What matters is that you care. That you know what choice you made, and that it’s the choice you either wanted or have to learn to accept. Either way, God will make it the best he can for you.

I am trying to write this book you see of my kids, cause I have so many, but I don’t know what to really put in it. My kids at this very moment are hanging crazily all over me. Are you done with the laptop yet, etc, etc. etc. You get my point lol. One crying cause he can’t have tiddy tot, a nursing toddler still and the others, well just hanging around I guess, lol. But at least I have their comfort and they have mine.

I am raising half of dozen, and this book I hope either helps you, inspires you or just humors you. Either way, I hope it becomes one of New York Times Best Sellers. Lets Begin shall we.

Once upon a time there was this woman who had half a dozen of kids, that’s a lot of eggs in the carton don’t you think. She had five boys and one little girl that was her princess. She lived in a semi big home with her sister . Her eight year old ask her one day, “Mom, what are you doing? And she said told him, “ What’s it look like I’m doing. And he replied, “ Writing your story. And of course I told him yes. See how interesting your kids can be, when they find the smallest things that we are doing, so interesting, but then he says to me, well how long is your story going to be so dreadfully, knowing it is going to be awhile till he can get back on to the laptop. I just breathe a sigh to let him know just go away for just a little bit, but of course as I type this he is laying his little head on my shoulder. And he says, “I love you mommy.” And I love him too. Take one day at a time and don’t forget to breathe. Life isn’t going to be that easy for you I know, I have lots of kids by myself too.

Chapter 2

“Mom, how many chapters are there?” my eight year old ask me. “ As many as it takes to get it done.” And he stirrs on my bed for a second and burst out, “How many?” But you see I can’t just tell him because you really never know how many there are really going to be you see. This is your life your writing about and telling others on paper. So they can read it and hopefully find it a delicious book they can’ t stop reading lol. Lets hope you all can find that in me. I have always thought of writing a book, but wasn’t really sure what about. Now I do . About my life, my six kids And how we get by day to day. We are all survivors out there. No matter what we will always make it through the storm we are walking through. Me, I don’ t walk though, I run, and then hide for just five minutes peace.

My eight year old says I should write about our late miley, she was our dog that was killed. Very pretty and so gentle. We had her since she was a baby. She was white with black spots everywhere. She almost resembled a dalamtion but wasn’t. Then there was ox our great dane we use to have. But he was returned to his original owners. But he was a big black beast of a pet I assure you and so lovable. All the kids loved him too. Then there was Shelby our lost dog still today that ran off and I believe someone else took in to love. She was a black flat coat retriever. Loved the water and playing ball. But do I miss her, heck no, she chewed up my furniture. So I was glad for her departing lol.

My eight year old was born on Halloween. My he gets double the goodies on his day lol. I am just ramdonly adding stuff in as I type along. Theres a writers block thing I can get stuck with and I don’t want that. So lets keep the story going

my diary.....

My Southern Belle Life as a mother of 6 kidsJuly 29, 2010

Dear Dairy,

Today was a good day and even better when McCallister’s Deli was giving away some of their famous sweet tea for free. AWWWWW,. So yummy and relaxing to quench down that sweet taste of honey in a form of tea.

We then proceeded to our West Park Mall in our town, Cape Girardeau and spent some time picking up on the latest fashion tips out of the latest fashion magizines. Some were pretty weird though, like an art doll book, scary……

But we played, looked at the magizines and all sorts of stuff.

Then I made sure my children and I , put back all the stuff we got out on our little mission of things to do on a Thursday at the mall..

Now we are in the play land at the mall, watching my kids act like king kong or monkeys, lol, seriously they are. But without life being like king kong and expanding our lungs to the highest capabilities, life would not be life, simply stated by my kids. HA, but there is a time that life can be so calming, and yeah, let me just keep dreaming okay.

Well, the day is about done, and I encountered several nice looking men too, woot woot, lol, doesn’t hurt to look in the window shops, knowing he is way out of my league and probably married. Lol. Always, sucks doesn’t it. Anyways, his little girl came up and said hi to me and my little girl patted her head. It was a sweet moment to watch. But like I said, those are sometimes the calming moments, just to watch her take time to caress someones hair, to just be sweet in her own world to someone else. Right now the play land here could use an update, (dramatically) lol, and a semi-café for us parents all enclosed together as one, but to also leave an outside play land like were in now, so that the ones not in the café can still let their own kids play for free without hassle. Either way it can all work out. Its so nice to see smiles on my kids faces, and see their joy and happiness. To hear them laugh tells me that even though im not a millionare, they are still happy and content with their little lives with mommy…..

Here is a nice gesture for a grand café in one. Lol. Just me dreaming here. Doesn’t hurt. Dreams do come true. I think?????? Right now I really wish I had a caffine beverage, ( preferably star bucks, lol , ).

And right then and there in my imagination, I have one…..MMMMM, so good, even the occasional Mountain Dew would suffice for me right now. I have one of those caffine headaches, crying out for some one on one alone time to concentrate on my brain cells,. My poor sister right now is my helper in watching my kids for me while I write to my online diary of my crazy day…. I love her for that. We found the most cutest 3 bedroom apt today, my sister found her dream room in it, with a small alice in wonderland door leading into a secret cove for her to place a lamp in and a cozy quilt and shut the door to escape to her reading, writing, are whatever comes to her mind…. Just lock herself away to magical wonders, without any disturbance from the outside crazy world. But for now were stuck in that crazy world, Please help us. Lol.

Hello, we are about to abandon this mall lol and escape back to mcCallisters deli to snag some more of that good, southern free sweet tea, ahhh, too bad u couldn’t join us on this freebie m oment. But in your local ads in the newspaper, look in the daily blogging section for any stuff like this going on today. That’s how found out about the free tea day .

My My My, can’t wait to get home, put them in their room to watch a movie on the laptop that I am writing on right now, and try and relax, mind you, I said try, lol, and watch a movie, without bothering children. Yeah right. But like I said, I can dream can’t I . There is this extremely married man with awesome mucsles sitting in front of me and my sister, god have mercy, he’s so hot.

Well, enough at looking at married men, lol, that’s not a daily basis mind you, just looking. I try and keep an eye out for the single ones, preferably ones that already have kids. But you never know. Well, fixing to round up my half of dozen kids and get into the van for that free sweet tea. Wish me luck in that okay, I will definitely need it. And pray for all those who are more drove nuts that I.

Until then, Goodnight, and keep dreaming………………………..

At the library today...

Puppet theater with Gioppino and Brighella, Be...Image via Wikipedia
We are at the public library today,  my kids love books, puppet shows, and etc. They love the colors and the computers and the toys that are educational.  Me i just love the fact that i can try and sit for a while and rest why they play and read.  Yeah Right, lol.
They have these weird seats for kids to sit on here. There different colors but look like a big round ball. And when you seat or fill them they have a spandex feel.
Right now a puppet show is going on with the kids.  they get up there and pretend to put on a very good puppet show for all of us.  Its funny.  My little girl lizzie just runs all over the place.  But its a good place for your kids to pass some good ole Quite time. I think my sister hid in the back with a load of magazines and books lol.  Shes a more reading bug type than me. I don't get the chance often, but i hope to soon.  My lizzie is playing with a neat traingle block set. Fascinating to her lol.  Never seen her sit so still.

Woww, its been really hot today, you can hardly breathe.  Its a 115 degrees and i think the humidity is hotter.  So right now i feel like this photo of alice in wonderland, of were all mad here.  Thats how hot its been today. lol.  This puppet show, its funny. Kids have such a big imagination.  I think sometimes we seem to forget that.
Well for now i will enjoy the rest of our puppet show and laugh, and read hopefully.

Books, Books, and More Books.......

At barnes and nobles and going on a reading frenzy. One book in particular is called, "Pop tart", a novel by Kira Coplin and Julianne Kaye. It says  on the back about one night in late November, just a stone's throw from the glittering lights and madness of Sunset Strip, I inadvertiently became  a key player in one of the most shocking celebrity dramas of the decade....
Really looks and sounds  very interesting. So check it out sometime.

But for now its just a crazy sunday with a lazy side to it lol. But i am having fun at the mall, earlier we hit walmart and the park, but it was getting tooooo hot to play, so we went to the graveyard beside us that has a peecock sections with live peecocks and you can feed them.  My ten ur old discovered an egg in their cage and said look what im taking home with me. I was like no way, lets take it back to their mommy. But his gesture of good intentions was so sweet.
Well for now have a good sunday and maybe later i will log back on.

This was a really delicious dinner that a southern belle blogger put together and posted, and i wanted to share with my blogging friends cause it looks really good.

Mexican Chicken (serves 1)

•1 chicken breast

•Taco Seasoning (I used Food Lion brand because it was the cheapest)

•Panko Breads Crumbs

•Your Favorite Salsa (I used medium – thick and chunky)

•Cheese (I used a Mexican blend)

1. Mix together taco seasoning and bread crumbs to taste. Don’t worry, you can’t give it too much flavor. Preheat oven to 375*F.

2. Bread chicken breast in panko/taco mixture, then place in a cooking dish. Cook 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the middle (This is why my picture turned out bad. I cut the chicken almost in half to check the center).

3. Spoon a few tablespoons of salsa on top and add cheese.

4. Place in oven until cheese has melted.

Mexican Rice

•1/2 cup instant rice

•1 cup water

•1 can Mexi-Corn (drained)

•4 TBSP Taco Seasoning

•Cheese

1. Cook rice like normal. When it’s done, toss in the mexi-corn.

2. Stir in taco seasoning and cheese.

The Southern Belle Baby

Long time no see

Well hello blog, and to all that has viewed it. Sorry I haven't been on in so long, I have been going through some heridous things that life just threw at me all at once. Still a single mom of 6 kids and still a college student and work. How I do all this some ask me, well lets just say, its beyond me myself.  I guess god just gives so much patience and help to us to get us where we need to be without going insane.  I wonder sometimes though, if I will ever find that special someone to complete one day my life and my kids life. But you have to be so careful nowdays of who you meet to date or further a relationship with.  I was seeing a guy and he had 4 kids, 3 girls and one boy. But his lifestyle as a parent and so on didn't add up to what i wanted for me and my kids in life.  Any man that is fixing to turn 39 soon and still lives with his parents and his kids live there with him tells me he can't even stand on his own 2 feet.  So i will leave the other details of this semi relationship censored, for various reasons lol.  But i would love to hear about your weird past relationships that were awkward or just too much drama.....I want that special someone to be stable and on  his own 2 feet.  Has to love kids and knows how to treat a woman.  So until that fantasy becomes a reality, i will just focus on me and my kids right now. Life does go on, good or bad, and one day god will send that someone you are waiting for towards your path.  Can't wait lol, I do get lonely sometimes.

Doing what is right...

Character is doing what is right when no one is looking. That is the inspiration for the day or was.   Now it is late or actually should i say morning because it is now 12:03 am.  Sorry I haven't been blogging lately, my life has been kind of busy.   My little girl turned 1 yr old on Feb. 9th, and we are giving her party this weekend.  She is having a princess party, and my sister bought her this princess barbie costume to dress up in on her birthday, and her princess cake we got her to smash and eat.  I can't wait, its going to be awesome and wonderful.  After 5 boys, trust me ladies, your very excited with a girl...  No offense to my wonderful boys.

Well, the groundhog seen his shawdow, and that means more bad weather, and I think this sunday and monday, we are due for more snow and yucky cold stuff.  I can't wait till spring and summer honestly.  The only thing I will hate is the tornado's and stuff.  I have enjoyed some beauty of the snow.  Its so pretty and bright. Its like what Jesus says when he will wash away our sins and make us white as snow.   I hope everyones Valentines day will go good. I wish all my friends if I have any, A Happy Valentines Day......And may God be with you in happiness or sadness, because I know there is some out there without a someone or a valentine.

Well, I am tired and just got done playing Halo 3 with my 14 yr old.  Its so fun and somewhat addicting.  But he was so tired and I thought I would update and say hi for a sec.
So Goodnite everyone and sleep tight.

Wanted to share this daily inspiration for all you gals...

Watch your thoughts they become your words. Watch your words they become your actions. Watch your actions they become your habits. Watch your habits they become your character. Watch your character it becomes your destiny.

Up doing my college homework that never ends....

I am trying to stop playing with  my new blog and accomplish getting some homework done from some of my college classes, but I have been so tired today, drifted to sleep in one of my classes today, a music appreciation class.  Could you really blame me though. lol.
Its an interesting class, don't get me wrong.  I am just really really tired today.  I have to write a 5 paragraph essay on How love is like a lawnmower.  ahhh, then read another chapter out of my speech class book and write down the important topics or main ideas I found out of the book, then write a 3-5 minute speech on a current affair or event.   Well enough said for that, and wanted to give an update on a business me and my sister are starting or have, It's called: "The Southern Belle Cleaners", so look us up on Myspace and Facebook if you need some cleaning done the southern style way, the right way.   Well, getting late, better finish up and say goodnite to everyone.   Oh, the groundhog seen his shadow, so we all know what that means, and It was my grandfather's birthday today too.  So happy birthday pepa.

Still up and can't sleep

Feburary 2, 2010
Tuesday

This is just one of those nights, when you just can't seem to fall asleep.  I hate these nights.  The kids haven't had school either due to all the snow, and we all kind of been cooped up inside so we have been getting out playing in the snow to keep from going insane.   But why I can't sleep is just beyond me.  I feel tired but my eyeballs are WIDE AWAKE, lol.
So tell me my southern friends, what do you do if you can't sleep?
Please comment to me. PLEASE......
I haven't really tried warm milk, it just sounds too nasty really, and I haven't tried any sleeping medications, due to the fact I do nurse, and really don't want to get addicted to some kind of pill that can make you blissfully fall asleep in no time.   So here I sit, wide awake just typing away at this new blogging thing I have began to love doing.    I hope to get to know many of you Southern Belle women out there, and I hope we can share back and forth many southern belle chat.

This is what it looks like outside tonight, and my bones have been hurting, due to this coldness, that could be one reason I can't sleep.   I feel like my body is older than me sometimes, you ever feel like that.  lol. I do alot......
We got 5 to 6 inches of snow here in Missouri, the land of misery sometimes as my oldest son says.   But I don't think its done yet.
We are told that another front for more snow is moving in for the weekend, ahhhh, I was so sure nicer weather was going to come soon.
My southern priss getting ready for bed .
She likes to sleep and likes for me to be right there beside her too.
She will be a year old on Feburary 9th, 2010.  Its going to be so much fun having her first birthday.   A princess for a day is what she will be in her own little southern style way.
Here is some pics of her brothers.  My little nest of chicks are getting big.

This is my 14 yr old Daniel.  This photo was last year I will get his others uploaded tomorrow.

But wait, it is tomorrow, lol.  Here is a pic from yesterday.
He is trying to be scary and funny all at once. lol.
This is my 9 year old Christian, and he is a Southern Boy and ham
when it comes to picture taking. He loves the outside and the snow.
Here he is today and he is posing with his little snowman he
made me.
This is Austin my 8 year old, he was a Halloween baby.
Loves the fact that he gets treated double on his
birthday, lol.  Right now he thinks he is a ninja.
This is him today too, outside having snowball fights with his brothers and little sis.
This is Briley, my 7 year old.  He is the Southern terror.
But yet so lovable and sweet.  He is attempting to show off his snowball snowman.
And this pic was from today too.  This is Briley sitting it out with his baby sister lizzie.
They look like too snowballs in a winterwonderland.
And this is my Peyton, only 3 yrs old. He is my last little boy.
He is my baby. He goes around saying to me "mommy, you my baby" and reaches
up and just wrapps his little arms around me and hugs me.
And this is his little snowman that acutally looks like a big snowball.
*(but we didn't tell him that)*
He looks really tired huh in this photo.  I do believe after this pic he did go inside and take a nap.
And last but not least, My only little girl out of all those boys. lol.
Here she is , Miss Southernbelle herself, Ms. Priss, Elizabeth.
11 months old.  She is one pretty girly girl. My little girl.

Well, time to say goodnite and early goodmorning. I think I am finally getting tired now.So now is the right time to end this southern tale of my half of dozen children with lizzie the southern priss waving bye to all our new friends.  I hope we didn't bore you in any way, and i hope we strike an interest for all our new to soon be fans.  Till next time, have a very southern goodnite's sleep and i pray that all is well in your lives and that God has been a good God to you. He is such a good God.
Goodnite.............................................................................................

I wanted to share some of my little Southern Belle Priss's pics

Feburary 2, 2010
Tuesday

These are just some new random pics of my daughter. The only little girl that I have out of 5 boys.  Thats right ladies, I have half of dozen kids. 5 boys and 1 baby girl.  My children range from a teenager to her being almost 1.
Here is my little girl, my little southern priss:

Isn't she just so cute!!! She is loveable, and sweet.  And loves to eat girls. She likes human food, lol, not baby food.  She does however sometimes make exceptions.  She was my last baby and I was so proud and happy when I had her.   Don't get me wrong my friends, I love my boys too,  its just she is so darn fun.    Its not everyday a woman with 5 boys can just finally one day have a beautiful southern belle priss.
She is such a princess.....
And her name is Elizabeth...

But I think she is more a tomboy than anything though.  She hates having stuff like ribbons and stuff in her hair.  She pulls them out.
But thats what you get having 5 big brothers the southern style way of life.
She will always be a strong southern priss having to always when she gets older defending herself from them, lol.

What to do with Southern trash?

Feburary 1, 2010

What to do with southern trash?  What I mean is people who allow their kids to run around at all hours of the night with boys that are way too old for them.  The only thing I could think to do was finally give a report about it.  Do you think this was wrong? What do you do when you know its neglect and that the kids parents just don't care.  Please give me a comment about it, let me know what you would do?

Oh well, enough of the drama talk that me and the neighbor have encountered since last night.  We just want children to be safe and not neglected or left to run wild just because they think they can.

Southern Style Food for the Cold outside

Just a little warm your tummy recipe we tried the other night.  Its a new way to eat chili.  Its called black bean chili, and its really southern and really good.  All you have to do is brown your turkey meat, add in your kidney beans, your tomato juice, some stewed ones too for flavoring, add your black beans, (no chili beans in this pot), and add some onions, bell peppers, and some chili seasoning and your all set for the southern style bean chili.   Its really good and the black beans in it help you lose weight in the process.
You can also bake brownies but add in some black beans to help you lose weight once a week.   Now this supposedly works ya'll, I got it from the Dr. Oz show.

So I hope you try my new turkey black bean chili with a little sour cream on the side for flavor too, and I want to hear some comments from you all on how it taste.  I REALLY WANT TO KNOW YA"LL:
